| Lance Van Auken
Lance Van Auken was a Little League player
from age seven to eighteen. Now in his thirty-third year
with Little League, he has served as a volunteer in such
capacities as umpire (including the 1992 Little League Baseball
World Series), manager, coach, and league vice president.
In 1993 he became Little League’s Southern Region assistant
director. He is currently employed by Little League Baseball
as director of media relations and communications. Lance
has made numerous public-broadcast appearances on television
including "Nightline" and "Today" and serves as Little League’s
spokesperson for articles by The Associated Press, Sports
Illustrated, The New York Times, USA Today, and other
major publications.Lance studied mass communications in
college and was a sportswriter for eleven years with several
Florida-based daily newspapers including the Tampa Tribune.
He still volunteers as a Little League umpire.
Robin Van Auken
Robin Van Auken is the owner of The
Omnibus, a multimedia agency promoting artists, musicians
and writers. Holding degrees in mass communications and
anthropology, she has worked for daily newspapers in Florida,
including the Williamsport Sun-Gazette and the
Tampa Tribune. Robin has also worked as a teacher and
museum curator. She has a bachelor's and a master’s thesis
in anthropology for the University of South Florida and
teaches Archaeology and Communication at Lycoming College.
Robin also has served as a Little League volunteer sponsor,
team mom, vice president, and concession-stand worker.
